Food That Fits with Alice Ma
Eating a variety of nutritious foods can be helpful when it comes to managing mood, energy, illness, and other conditions. However, it can sometimes be difficult to eat balanced meals when you have allergies, intolerances, or other dietary restrictions. In this session, we will go over the basics of how to build a nutritious meal or snack, then touch on how to adjust some of these meals to make them appropriate for some alternative diets.
Alice was raised in Salt Lake, UT and is a proud graduate of the University of Utah, receiving both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees there. She is a Registered Dietitian and has been a part of the WSU community for just over four years. As the dietitian for Dining Services, Alice’s main role is to serve students who have special dietary needs. This includes working with students with mild to severe allergies, intolerances, celiac disease, and/or dietary restrictions motivated by religion, health, or ethics. When not working on campus, Alice volunteers with the Moscow Food Coop facilitating classes on how to prepare budget-friendly meals that are allergen-friendly.
